Climate Change

Climate change refers to significant and lasting alterations in temperature, precipitation, and other atmospheric conditions on Earth over extended periods, typically decades to millions of years. It is primarily driven by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes, which increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun, leading to a gradual rise in global temperatures, known as global warming. Climate change impacts ecosystems, weather patterns, sea levels, and biodiversity, posing challenges such as increased frequency of extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to food and water supplies. It is a critical global issue that necessitates urgent action to mitigate its effects and adapt to its consequences.
