Cyclocross

Cyclocross is a form of bicycle racing that takes place on a variety of terrains, including grass, dirt, sand, and snow. Races typically consist of multiple laps around a closed course, which includes natural and manmade obstacles that require participants to dismount and carry their bikes. Cyclocross bikes are similar to road bikes but feature wider tires for better traction and stability on uneven surfaces, as well as a more upright geometry for comfort during dismounting and remounting. The sport is characterized by its combination of endurance, technical skills, and tactical racing, often taking place in autumn and winter, making it distinct from road cycling and mountain biking. Cyclocross has a strong following in Europe and has gained popularity in other regions, particularly in the United States.
